Curriculum
Currently the curriculum we use is called Creative Curriculum. There are six fundamental aspects to the curriculum: value of play is the vehicle for learning, help to facilitate and develop social competence, teacher’s role is vital in connecting content and learning, family participation is essential, believe all children, even with special needs, can thrive in the classroom, and believe assessment and curriculum must be linked together. Through all of these fundamentals the preschool children will “gain independence and self-control, and learn to take initiative and assert themselves in socially acceptable ways. They become keen observers of their world and experiment with their surroundings to find out what happens when they interact with other people and handle and maneuver objects and materials.” (Creative Curriculum for Preschool)
